Founded on the belief that every child deserves the chance to experience the thrill of casting a line is one of the many reasons why Shaggy`s Angler Camp is still a huge success to this day.

As Shaggy`s Angler Camp celebrates this milestone anniversary, it stands as a testament to the power of strong community partnerships with a shared passion for fishing and shaping future generations.

The upcoming summer camp sessions at USM`s Marine Education Center in Ocean Spring are for young anglers in grades 7th to 12th. Campers will master the basics of fishing Coastal Mississippi’s waters, interact with GCRL scientists in the lab and on the water to learn about fish biology and behavior, Learn how weather, wind, moon, and tides affect fishing, recognize good spots to fish, and so much more!
